Older than the IRS but young at heart

You can now apply online to participate in ALA's 2008 Emerging Lead..., an initiative aimed at younger librarians who want to get involved with ALA and learn skills that will help them become leaders within the Association, our profession, and their own organizations.

Up to 120 participants (60 sponsored and 60 open)
  • ALA member, and
  • Young (under 35 years) or new librarians of any age with fewer than 5 years post-MLS experience, and
  • Recent MLS degree from an ALA or NCATE accredited program or in an MLS program currently, and
  • Able to attend both ALA conferences and work virtually in between, and
  • Ready to commit to serve on an ALA, Division, Chapter, or Round Table committee, taskforce or workgroup upon completion of program.
