American Library Association

Older than the IRS but young at heart

As recently noted by the Librarian in Black, ALA's Graphics staff is working with Yahoo to provide "READ" t-shirts for Yahoo avatars. LiB provides instructions for how to create an avatar and clothe it..., and you can then use the image anywhere you want (Ning, Facebook, MySpace, etc.).

I didn't know we were working with Yahoo on this, so I was pleasantly surprised to be scooped by the LiB. :)

Actually, the idea of the "Read" avatar grew out of our School Library 2.0 team in California. Thanks to Jackie Siminitus, ATandT Library Advocate and Connie Williams, California School Library Association president-elect, the idea became reality.
