There is a proposal for an ALA Member Initiative Group (MIG) called 'Virtual Communities and Libraries' that could use your review and possible signature.
http://www.ala.org/ala/ourassociation/membership/memberstories/file... has the link to the .pdf of the petition. The hope is to get 100 signatures together by Annual Conference asking COO to create this Member group. It would be able to do programming and discussion groups within ALA. And it might lead to other institutional structures like round tables, etc….
Tom Peters, Lori Bell, Matt Gullett and Kitty Pope are the 'designated organizers'.
All (2) current ALA members at my library have signed the physical paper; now I just have to find it, find an envelope, and do the snail mail minutiae thing. Anyone got a forever stamp?
